Target: CQC registration & compliance consultancy · private-clinic operations · healthcare business advisory
Profile
Managing Director (non-clinical) of a CQC-registered private clinic in Derby, working alongside a GMC-registered Clinical Director. I took the provider through CQC registration myself — application, policies, governance and inspection-readiness — and run all non-clinical operations: commercial strategy, supplier negotiation and procurement, regulatory and financial compliance, and patient-facing digital infrastructure. I bring something most healthcare consultants don't have: 30 years of prior P&L leadership in another safety-critical regulated industry (transport), including founding and scaling a £3M accredited training business — so I understand regulators, audit trails and operational discipline from lived experience on both sides.
Healthcare operations evidence
- CQC registration, done personally: provider application through to registration for a private clinic (2025) — registered manager processes, statement of purpose, governance framework, policy suite
- Clinic operations: procurement and supplier negotiation (pharmacy supply chains, aesthetics devices), pricing strategy, financial compliance, VAT and company administration
- Digital infrastructure, built hands-on: booking and CRM systems, patient reporting dashboards, web presence and marketing automation — designed and operated by me using modern AI tooling, in a regulated environment
- Device economics: owner-operator experience of aesthetics/medical device investment appraisal and utilisation (body-composition analysis, energy-based devices)
Transferable regulated-industry leadership
- Group Operations Director, multi-depot haulage group: 150+ HGV fleet, five depots, group tariff and procurement budgets; compliance-heavy environment (Transport Manager CPC, tachograph/drivers'-hours regimes)
- Founder & MD, PHW Services Ltd (2007–2023): national training provider, £600k → £3M+, government-funded provision under five awarding/accreditation bodies — 16 years of external audit and quality assurance
- Led £5M acquisition due diligence and integration; headed Marks & Spencer peak logistics (£16M+ budgets, £6M/yr compliance savings delivered)
